Well Mom came on Thursday night with this!
She said someone called her because he had been seen in an industrial area for about a week. The lady who called he said that she feeds the feral cats there and he had been hanging around. Well he was pretty gross and smelled awful!! Mom made him take 2 baths in a row, we don’t think he ws very happy about it either. But then he looked like this!
Mom took him to the V*E*T and they did a bunch of tests. It seems that he is almost completely blind, sees shadows and has some major neurological problems. Has trouble eating, can only lap soft food, walks funny like he is drunk, spins and flops over. He seems to have control of his bladder. So right now he is on antibiotics and living with us. He mainly stays in my big crate with a bed and water and potty pads. Unless moms home and then he sits on her lap, and she takes him in the back yard so he can wander and smell things. After a couple days he is less nervous and loves momma.
But she doesn’t think he can stay, and the V*E*T said maybe he should go to the rainbow bridge. But we got some good news yesterday, that maybe one of the ladies who works for th V*E*T who met him might take him to live with her and see how he does. She can bring him to work with her. He is only 6 pounds!!! Momma takes him back on Wednesday to see if the antibiotics might have helped. She is calling him Bug since he is so small has big eyes and walks funny like a bug!
Someone dumped him where he was living, since in his condition he probably couldn’t have traveled very far and there are no house for miles around there. Also we are not sure what caused the problems, could be trauma from being thrown from a car, untreated distemper which untreated long-term can cause neurological problems, a genetic condition or infection.

Good of you to rescue the poor little guy. He is having more attention and comfort and love now than he ever did before, I’m sure.
Daisy,
You and your mom are so wonderful for taking in this sweet little pup and caring for him. We hope everything works out for Bug.

Good luck to the Bug. Thanks for taking him in.
THank you for taking in that poor little guy! Mom and I wish we were closer to be able to help since my grandmom has a special place in her heart for special small dogs.

Bug is cute! It is wonderful of your mom to help him, poor little fellow. At least his final years will be good. Congrats on the great award! Very unusual.
love & wags,
River
Your mom is an angel!! Poor sweet puppy!! But one lucky pup to have been given a chance.
Poor little guy – your Mom was so good to take Bug home and try to help him. Here’s hoping he can live a happy life for some more time. So sad that some pups have so many problems.
Hugs, the OP Pack

That is such a nice thing you did! I could not foster as I would not be able to give up the pup! My two rescued pitties are all that I am able to handle right now as it is!
He so deserves some love and khomfort fur as long as he has left here-
I think he’s got some special purposes to fulfill befur his place ‘khross the Bridge is ready –
Tank woo to all those special folks helping him –
Hugz&Khysses,
Khyra
My uncle found an almost dead kittie in the woods and named her popcorn because she was so small. The V-E-T said she should have crossed over the bridge, but he took care of her and now she bosses around his other kitties.
I’m just saying because it is great that you are nursing Bug, but I think once he gets his strength back he might be really bossy so finding him a furever home would be good.
Poor little chap.

Mango
Aw, what a cute little fella! But what a sad story. It’s upsetting to me to think that someone probably dumped him. 😡 Thank you for taking him in and giving him some love and attention. I know you’ll do the best thing for him no matter what, so he’s a lucky little dog! 🙂
Thanks for the award! I’ve been so busy lately. I’m about to launch the new and improved Happy PB site… just waiting on the domain transfer. It will be one less thing to worry about, especially in the midst of all the vet bills and real job, so I’m impatient! 😀
Jennifer
Wroo, Daisy! I have finally got That Mean Girl to let me visit some of my fur-ends, and I wanted to let you know how much I’ve missed you!
Your Mom is so furry kind – taking Bug in and helping him get clean and healthy was such a loving thing to do. We hope he gets to go home with that V*E*T lady and live a good life.
We read most of the posts about your costume contest, it was furry fun! (I don’t wear costumes, ‘cuz The Girl says that after wearing a t-shirt for eleventy-seven months after my leggie got stolen means that I don’t ever have to wear clothes again. However, she always seems to forget that when she makes me wear a COAT in winter!)
Brown dog kisses,
Dannan and The Girl
What a sweetie…we do hope he gets better and the lady takes him to live with her. Poor thing! 😦
Nala
Aw, Bug is a sweetie. Too bad the poor little guy has so many troubles. Here’s hoping things turn out ok for him!
❤ S and D
What a cute little Bug!
POOR LITTLE GUY! SOME PEOPLE SHOULD BE SHOT FOR DROPPING OFF DOGS TO FEND FOR THEMSELVES. ALL SHELTERS WILL BE GLAD TO TAKE THEM EVEN IF THEY CANNOT AFFORD TO FEED THEM. BECAUSE IT IS STILL BETTER TO FIND THEM A HOME.
