It’s been 3 years since I updated this blog, this maybe my last post. On June 12, 2107 at about 9:00 in the morning Daisy flew over the rainbow bridge. She finally had succumbed to the cancer that she had fought for several years. Hemangiosarcoma, initially the growths were on the skin and fairly easily removed, some via laser and some under anesthesia. This battle went on for 5 years, with the hope that these growths would never metastasize. In October of 2016 after an ultrasound, we found out that the cancer had spread to her spleen and it was removed. She was given about 3-6 months at that point.

Saying good-bye to Daisy was one of the hardest things I have had to do. I rescued her after Natalie died, because Natalie’s wish was to rescue a white pitbull and name her Daisy. Daisy helped me heal from the grief of losing a child, and brought me joy. Daisy and I did a lot together including obtaining her CGC, Canine Good Citizen, it was important to me she be a breed ambassador.

Daisy spent her last day at home and the vet came to our house, she fell asleep peacefully in her bed with Roscoe laying next to her.

I was lucky to have such a friend.

We have some sad news today

As many of you know we are big fans of our friends over at Bad Rap. They do so many amazing things for pibbles, and have rescued so many in need. Last October they took in an emaciated pit bull who was later diagnosed with lymphoma. A wonderful Lady took her in to give a the best life however long. Thank you to Nice Lady.

Birdy had alot of loving to do before she flew home.

Mom had a huge soft spot for this girl, and followed her blog religiously. On Tuesday we found out Birdy wasn’t doing so well and her departure for home was eminent, today at 4. This morning she flew home a bit ahead of schedule.

Good Bye Sweet Birdy. We loved you from afar, we watched you love those around you and enjoy your sweet time with Nice Lady and OM.

Today is my birthday.  I was born sometime around September of 2006, mom didn’t know what day, so she picked today since it is also the day that she lost Bear, a doggie that went to the rainbow bridge on 9/9/2001. She thought this way she will always remember Bear who she loved lots, and me too.  I don’t like sharing this day, but I know mom loves me alot too, so its ok.

Today for my birthday I went for a walk with my dog walker, and then Rosoce and I went out side with the exploding blankies. These are blankies that mom buys me for my chair, then they get all ripped up somehow, I can’t imagine that it happens when I run around with them.  Mom says she is going to start buying them at the dollar tree if they keep exploding.

I am not sure if mom has a surprise for me when she gets home from work. I sure hope so. Maybe a new kong, or some special treats. I thought I saw some leftover roast beef in the fridge this morning!

It is with a heavy heart and sad eyes that I learned one of my blogging friends Fred Cat has made a journey to the Rainbow Bridge. I know that Cathie and Mr. B are probably very sad, because humans get that way when their loved ones leave. Fred was the only cat that had ever e-mailed me before! And I honored him with a place on my links list, you may notice he is the only cat listed (for now). I would highly recommend going and reading some of the the Tails of FredCat the Famous, and while you are there make sure you say hello to Cathie and Mr. B.
